Plan Introduction

The origin of the project

The Changhua County Government is promoting this project to foster urban and rural development, strengthen land utilization, achieve urban convergence and renewal development along the railway corridor, enhance metropolitan spatial utilization efficiency, and thereby improve the environmental landscape.

Plan outline

  • Scope and Stations: The project includes 9.5 kilometers of elevated urban railway, the construction of two new commuter stations (Jinma and Zhongyang), and the reconstruction of Changhua Station. The Fan-Shaped Engine Depot will be preserved under a dynamic preservation approach.
  • Maintenance Relocation: Based on the Executive Yuan's meeting conclusion on 2024/03/15 (M.R. 113), the Changhua Rolling Stock Maintenance Depot will be relocated to Huatan (for passenger trains) and Ershui (for freight trains).

Expected benefit

The project will eliminate four at-grade level crossings, four underpasses, and four overpasses along the railway line.
